What Mention is in 2026
Mention launched as a media monitoring tool and spent most of its life as one of the small handful of names that came up whenever a marketer asked how to track brand mentions. It indexes social platforms alongside news sites, blogs and the wider web, and surfaces matches for the keywords you define, with alerting, sentiment classification and reporting layered on top.
In 2025 it was acquired by Agorapulse, a social media management platform. That ownership change explains most of what has happened to the product since: Agorapulse already sells publishing and engagement, so the overlapping parts of Mention have been trimmed and Mention has been pushed toward the listening and monitoring role in a larger suite.
The result is a more focused product aimed at a larger customer. It is not a worse tool than it was. It is a tool that has changed who it is for, which is a different thing and is often mistaken for the first.
