Brand24 Reviewthe media-monitoring platform built for reporting

Brand24 monitors sixteen named sources, scores every mention for sentiment, clusters conversations into topics, writes an automatic weekly insight report and produces the reach and share-of-voice figures a communications team is asked for. This review covers what it does unusually well, what $199 a month billed annually actually buys, and where it stops — written by a competitor, and sourced to its own pages throughout.

The short version

A mature monitoring and analytics platform, priced like one

Brand24 is a media-monitoring and social-listening tool with a decade behind it, and the maturity shows in the parts of the product that are boring to build: a per-tier source matrix published in full, a help centre that answers awkward questions directly, an overage policy that promises never to bill above the plan price, and a reporting layer — reach, AVE, Presence Score, share of voice, influencer analysis, geo and demographics — that exists because paying customers had to hand something to a client.

The AI layer is substantial and its own documentation describes it precisely. Sentiment analysis runs on every plan. From the Pro tier upward you also get AI Insights, which writes an automatic weekly report with trends and recommendations; Events, which detects a spike or dip and explains in plain English what caused it; Topic Analysis, which clusters conversations with NLP; and the Brand Assistant, an AI analyst you can ask why mentions moved last week. An MCP server ships on every plan, and there is an official ChatGPT app.

Our verdict, written as a competitor and offered as opinion: this is a well-built platform aimed at brand, PR and agency teams, and for that buyer it earns its price. It is expensive for a founder — $199 a month billed annually, $249 month to month, for three keywords and twice-daily updates — and the AI suite most people are buying it for starts two tiers up at $399. It does not draft replies, and it does not cover Hacker News.

Brand24 rows come from its own pricing page and the per-tier comparison matrix on it, its features page, its AI Insights page and its help centre, retrieved and render-checked in August 2026. Rows marked false mean the capability is not offered, not merely undocumented. ParseStream rows are read from the product's own configuration and public API documentation.

01

What Brand24 is

Brand24 describes itself as a media-monitoring and analytics tool for online businesses of all sizes, and unusually for a marketing line, that is an accurate description of the product. It collects public mentions of the keywords you give it across a named list of sources, scores each one for sentiment, files it by source and author, and then does a great deal of arithmetic on top: how far the mentions reached, what they would have cost as advertising, which authors carry the most influence, how your share of voice compares with a competitor project, where in the world the conversation is happening and who is having it.

You work in projects. A project is a keyword — a brand name, a competitor, a market term — and the product's own guidance is to run several: one for your brand, one for each competitor you care about, and more for the topics your buyers discuss. Boolean search with AND, OR and NOT is available on every plan for narrowing, along with required and excluded keywords, and from the Pro tier there are filters for sentiment, reach, language and source plus a fast search across large projects.

The source list is published per tier, which is more than most of this category manages. Facebook, Instagram, X, news, blogs, Reddit and a catch-all “other socials” category are on every plan. LinkedIn, Medium, Quora, YouTube and TikTok arrive with the Team plan. Reviews, Twitch and newsletters arrive with Pro, and podcasts with Business. Its homepage names a partly different set in prose — Spotify, Telegram, TripAdvisor and the App Store among them — and ends with “much, much more”; the plan matrix is the only place availability is stated tier by tier, so that is what this review uses.

The company behind it is Brand24 Global, Inc., of Daytona Beach, Florida, according to its own legal page and site footer. It publishes a 10th-anniversary page describing a decade of media monitoring, along with customer case studies and a stat block of company milestones. We have not attempted to verify the figures in that stat block and have not repeated any of them here.

02

What $199 a month, billed annually, actually buys

Brand24 publishes five tiers. Individual is $199 a month billed annually, or $249 month to month, and includes three keywords, 2,000 mentions a month, one user, updates every twelve hours and sentiment analysis. Team is $299 annually or $349 monthly, with seven keywords, 10,000 mentions, unlimited users, hourly updates and five more sources. Pro is $399 annually or $499 monthly, with twelve keywords, 40,000 mentions, real-time collection and the AI suite. Business is $599 annually or $699 monthly, with twenty-five keywords and 100,000 mentions. Enterprise starts at $1,499 a month, the same figure on both billing bases, with custom limits.

One detail catches almost everyone quoting this product, and it caught our own July research too: the pricing page loads with the annual view already selected. In the page's markup both prices are present, but only the annual one is visible, so a glance — or any tool that reads rendered text rather than the underlying DOM — reports $199 as though it were the monthly rate. It is not. Month to month, Individual is $249. There is a second wrinkle worth knowing: annual billing is not something you select at checkout. Brand24's own FAQ says to start the 14-day trial and then contact them to switch to an annual subscription.

The shape of the ladder deserves attention before you pick a tier, because two things people assume are entry-level are not. The first is refresh cadence: the Individual plan updates every twelve hours, and its help centre confirms that hourly updates start on Team and real-time collection on Pro. The second is the AI. Sentiment runs everywhere, but AI Insights, Topic Analysis, Events detection and the Brand Assistant — the features most of the marketing is about — begin on Pro at $399 a month billed annually. If you are evaluating on the strength of those, evaluate the $399 plan.

Two things are unusually buyer-friendly and worth saying plainly. Team seats stop being a cost entirely from the Team plan upward — unlimited users, no per-seat arithmetic, at a price point where most of this category still charges per login. And the overage policy is a straightforward promise: its pricing FAQ says it never charges more than the plan price, and that if a project collects more mentions than the plan permits, Brand24 contacts you about upgrading rather than billing you. A 30-day money-back guarantee sits on top of that, excluding custom plans.

Extra keywords and extra users can be bought from account settings at monthly prices — but those prices are not published anywhere public, so budget for a conversation rather than a number.

03

Where Brand24 is genuinely strong

The reporting layer is the headline and it is not padding. Reach, advertising value equivalency, Presence Score, influencer analysis, share of voice across projects, geographic breakdowns and audience demographics, exported as Excel, PDF or PowerPoint, white-labelled if you are an agency, or shared as a live link. That is a complete answer to a real job — the monthly or quarterly document a communications team has to produce — and very little in the low end of this market attempts it at all.

The AI features are well-chosen for that same buyer. AI Insights turning a week of mentions into a short written report with trends and recommendations is genuinely useful to someone who would otherwise spend a morning assembling it. Events is the smarter idea: rather than just flagging a spike, it explains in plain language what drove it, backed by the underlying mentions. The Brand Assistant answers questions about your own project data conversationally and can summarise any filtered set of mentions on demand. These are analytics tools rather than engagement tools, and as analytics tools they are strong.

Published per-tier availability is a quiet strength buyers underrate. Brand24's pricing page carries a full comparison matrix marking every source and every feature as included or not included on each of the five plans. Knowing before you buy that podcasts need the Business tier, that the API is a Business add-on, or that Quora starts on Team is exactly the kind of information most vendors leave you to discover after the invoice.

The help centre is candid in a way that is worth noting. It states the trial's real limits rather than the marketing version, gives the archive retention per plan, explains that collection begins when the project is created with roughly thirty days of backfill attempted, and — on its own alternatives page — acknowledges that social platforms restrict what any monitoring tool can access, so coverage of LinkedIn or Facebook may be incomplete. That last one is true of every tool in this category, ours included, and publishing it is a mark in their favour rather than against.

Smaller things that add up: unlimited users from the Team plan; Boolean search on every plan; Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations everywhere; storm alerts for sudden volume changes; twelve months of archived mentions from Team; an MCP server on every plan with an OAuth endpoint and an official ChatGPT app; and an AI Visibility add-on that tracks how a brand appears across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Copilot and Claude.

04

Where it stops, and what is not published

The clearest limit is scope rather than quality: Brand24 does not help you write the reply. It finds the conversation, tells you how it feels and how far it travelled, files it, charts it and reports on it. Composing the response — and posting it — is entirely your job. No reply-composition feature appears in the plan matrix, on the features page or in the help centre. If your bottleneck is writing rather than knowing, budget for that gap.

The second is the entry tier's shape. Three keywords, one user and twelve-hourly updates for $199 a month billed annually is a narrow plan at a price most small teams would consider a serious commitment, and the features that make the product distinctive are two tiers above it. That is a legitimate way to build a price ladder for brand and agency buyers; it is a poor fit for a founder tracking fifteen terms.

The third is Hacker News, which appears nowhere on the pricing page, in the plan matrix or on the homepage. For a product that covers Reddit, Quora, Medium and DEV-adjacent territory, that is a notable omission if your market is technical — a question asked on Hacker News is often a buying question asked in public, and it will not reach you here.

A few things are simply not stated publicly, and we are flagging them as unknowns rather than weaknesses. Brand24 publishes which sources each plan reaches but not what is read from each one — whether Reddit coverage includes comments as well as posts, for instance, is not documented, so ask. The prices for extra keywords and extra users exist in the app but not on the website. No per-plan project limit is published, only which AI features are scoped to how many projects. And the marketed “Intent” capability on the features page has no tier attached to it in the plan matrix.

Finally, the site carries several figures we have deliberately not repeated as fact: a customer count, an annual revenue number, a total mentions-delivered figure, a domains-monitored count and a user rating displayed inside its own comparison widget. Those are normal marketing claims and we are not treating them as a mark against the product — we simply have not used any of them here, and neither should anyone else without asking how they were measured.

05

Who should buy Brand24

PR and communications teams, first and most clearly. If part of your job is reporting coverage upward — how far a campaign travelled, what it would have cost in paid media, whether sentiment moved, who the loudest voices were — this product is built around exactly that document, and most of the cheaper tools in this space do not attempt it.

Agencies. White-labelled reports, project comparison for share of voice, unlimited users from the Team plan and Excel, PDF and PowerPoint export make the client-facing half of the work straightforward, and a Client Success Lead is attached from the Business tier.

Consumer and multi-channel brands. If your mentions land on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, in podcasts, in newsletters and in the press as much as on forums, the source list is the reason to buy, and seven of the sixteen sources are on the cheapest plan.

Teams that need history and trend reporting. Twelve months of archived mentions from the Team plan, with topic clustering, anomaly explanation and period comparison on top, supports the kind of quarterly review a marketing team is actually asked for.

And teams putting AI in front of their data. An MCP server on every plan with OAuth, an official ChatGPT app, and an AI Visibility add-on covering the major assistants is a more complete answer to “how does our brand look to AI” than most of this category currently has.

06

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone whose real problem is replying rather than knowing. If you already know the threads exist and the reason you are not in them is that writing each response takes twenty minutes, a better analytics platform will not fix that. This is the gap ParseStream is built for and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Solo founders and pre-revenue teams. $199 a month billed annually — $2,388 for the year, or $2,988 month to month — is a real line item, and three keywords will not cover your name plus three competitors plus the phrases people actually type. Tools at a fraction of the price cover the forum platforms adequately and let you watch far more terms.

Anyone who needs Hacker News. It is not covered, and if your buyers are technical no other strength on this list substitutes for it.

Buyers evaluating on the AI suite while pricing the entry plan. Sentiment is everywhere, but AI Insights, Topic Analysis, Events and the Brand Assistant start at $399 a month billed annually. If those are why you are here, compare that number rather than $199.

And anyone who needs an all-in-one that also publishes. Brand24 does not post to platforms, schedule content or manage accounts, and it does not claim to. If you want listening and publishing in one place, this is not that product.

07

How we would evaluate it if we were buying

Start the fourteen-day trial and read its limits first. It runs on Pro features with up to ten keywords and 30,000 mentions, and trial data refreshes every twenty-four hours rather than in real time, with a cap of a hundred mentions a day from Twitter and Instagram. That means the trial is simultaneously more generous than the plan you would probably buy — ten keywords against three — and slower than it. Plan your test around both facts.

Set up the projects the way the product intends: one for your brand, one for each competitor, and a few for the market terms your buyers use. Its own lead-generation guide suggests adding phrases like “recommendation”, “looking for” and “suggestions” to catch people asking for advice, and that advice is sound regardless of which tool you end up with.

Then run the same ten keywords down to three and see what survives. Three is what the Individual plan gives you, and the exercise of choosing which three tells you very quickly whether this is the right tier or whether you are really shopping for Team or Pro.

Test the reporting properly, because it is the reason to buy. Generate the AI Insights report, export a PDF and a PowerPoint, and put them in front of whoever would receive them. If that document does the job, the price question largely answers itself; if nobody was ever going to read it, you are paying for the wrong half of the product.

And run something else on the same keyword list at the same time. Comparing what two tools surface for identical inputs is the single most informative thing you can do in this category, and most trials are free. We would say that regardless of which two you picked.

Brand24: pros and cons

Assessed as it is sold in August 2026, from its own published pages and help centre.

Strengths

  • A complete PR reporting layer — reach, AVE, Presence Score, influencer analysis, share of voice, geo and demographics — that very little at this price point attempts.
  • Excel, PDF, PowerPoint and white-labelled report export, plus shareable live links from the Business plan.
  • Sixteen named sources published tier by tier, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, podcasts, newsletters, news and reviews.
  • A well-chosen AI suite from the Pro plan: automatic weekly insight reports, plain-English anomaly explanations, NLP topic clustering and a conversational brand analyst.
  • Unlimited team seats from the Team plan upward, with no per-login pricing.
  • An MCP server on every plan with an OAuth endpoint, plus an official ChatGPT app.
  • An overage policy that promises never to bill above the plan price, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • A 14-day trial with no credit card, and a help centre that states the trial's real limits rather than the marketing version.

Trade-offs

  • No reply drafting at all — it finds, classifies and reports on the conversation, and writing the response is your job.
  • Three keywords on the entry plan at $199 a month billed annually, $249 monthly, which is tight for anyone tracking competitors as well as their own name.
  • The AI suite beyond sentiment starts on the Pro plan at $399 a month billed annually, two tiers above the entry price most people quote.
  • Individual refreshes every 12 hours; hourly needs Team and real time needs Pro.
  • Hacker News absent from the published source list.
  • The API is a paid add-on on Business and included only on Enterprise, with the key issued by a Customer Success Manager.
  • Per-source depth is not published — whether a given platform is read at comment level is not documented anywhere public.
  • Extra keyword and extra user prices are not published, and annual billing requires contacting them rather than selecting it at checkout.

Our scorecard

Scored on the dimensions a buyer actually weighs. Bars, not stars — see the note underneath.

Subject: Brand24 as sold in August 2026

Reporting and analytics depth

9/10

Reach, AVE, Presence Score, share of voice, influencers, geo and demographics, exported as Excel, PDF or PowerPoint. The reason to buy it.

Source breadth

9/10

Sixteen named sources published tier by tier, including consumer social, podcasts, newsletters and news. Hacker News is the one visible gap.

Analytics AI

8/10

Weekly insight reports, anomaly explanation, topic clustering and a conversational analyst — well-chosen for the buyer, but starting two tiers up.

Pricing transparency

7/10

A full per-tier matrix on the pricing page is unusually good; the annual-default view, unpublished add-on prices and off-checkout annual billing pull it down.

Team and collaboration fit

8/10

Unlimited users from the Team plan, Slack and Teams integrations everywhere, and agency-shaped reporting. Built for teams rather than individuals.

Documentation quality

8/10

A help centre that states real trial limits, per-plan retention and cadence, and admits where platform APIs constrain coverage. Per-source depth is the missing piece.

Value at the entry tier

4/10

Three keywords, one seat and 12-hourly updates for $199 billed annually or $249 monthly. Fine for a single-brand PR team, steep for anyone tracking a list.

Engagement and reply support

2/10

It delivers, classifies and reports on the conversation and stops there. No drafting, no publishing — deliberate scope, but a gap if replying is your bottleneck.

These scores are ParseStream's editorial assessment of a competing product, written by a vendor that sells against it. They are opinion, not aggregated customer ratings, and they are deliberately not published as Review or AggregateRating structured data. The factual claims on this page — prices, source lists, feature availability and quoted documentation — are sourced below and were checked against Brand24's own pages in August 2026; the scores are not facts. We have not cited any third-party review score: the aggregator sites in this category are bot-walled and could not be render-verified, and the rating Brand24 displays inside its own comparison widget is a vendor-curated presentation of other people's data rather than an independent source.
